District Flower Show

At the Standard Flower Show, “The Simple Joys of Life”, sponsored by Tidewater District January 25-27, 2013 the following top design awards were received: Designer’s Choice—Betty Ann Galway for “It’s a Girl; Table Artistry—Laura Jacobson for “Here Comes the Bride” (Also Design Excellence); and Petite Award -Patsy Cameron for “Retirement”. In horticulture Frances Thrash received the Elfin and Horticulture Excellence awards for mahonia ‘Soft Caress’. Other horticulture awards were: Arboreal awards to Susan Husak and Bev Hunter; Award of Merit to Ann Brown; Collectors Showcase to D.J.Marini. The Education award went to Helene Gardner for “Birds in Our Backyards”.
